A vacancy within a large local authority as a “Housing Advisor/Housing Options Officer” is now being advertised and is based in North East London.

The position is temporary and requires someone with an advanced standard of organisational skills, excellent communication and work to the council’s Equal Opportunity Policy. The post holder is required to have knowledge and experience in the below areas:

  • Full knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 Part 6 and 7
  • Relevant legislation, guidance, policy and directives towards their duties in the following fields:
    1. Security, Tenancies and Licenses
    2. Long Leasehold rights and Freehold management
    3. Rents and council tax arrears
    4. Local authority powers
    5. Housing and Welfare benefits
    6. Illegal eviction rights and Criminal Law
    7. Homelessness Law

The candidate is required to provide a comprehensive housing advice service and assistance while maintaining and delivering a customer friendly service.
